Cogburn Woods Elementary
Cogburn Woods Elementary School opened in August of 2004 with an enrollment of 785 students. Today Cogburn Woods hosts an enrollment of over 1,000 students! Cogburn Woods houses students from kindergarten to the 5th grade. After Cogburn Woods students complete the 5th grade, the vast majority of students will then move on to the nearby Hopewell Middle School.

The administration, faculty and Staff at Cogburn Elementary School are very well trained and very motivated individuals who work with not only the students, but also their families to ensure that the students get the best opportunity possible to succeed both inside and outside of the classroom.
In order to benefit its students academically, Cogburn Woods has implemented programs and clubs such as the lunch bunch program, which is a teacher led book club open to students in the 4th and 5th grades, that promotes reading in students, as well as the ability to answer questions and form opinions about literature.
The Parent Teacher Association (PTA) is a very active and valuable program at Cogburn Woods. The PTA at Cogburn Woods is responsible for things such as running fundraisers, social events, and teacher appreciation events; as well as things such as funding programs such as subscriptions to websites like morestarfall and IXL math, which students now have the opportunity to use to benefit their education free of cost because of PTA funding.
